Ghana youth international Ebenezer Assifuah has sealed a five-year deal with Swiss side FC Sion and has been named in the squad to face Sursee in the Schweizer Pokal preliminary round match.
According to Swiss website Handesblatt, the deal was finalised on Wednesday night after the budding striker had successfully passed his medicals.
Assifuah, 20, will spearhead the attack of Sion as they seek to end the dominance of clubs like FC Basel and others.
The youngster who was groomed at Sekondi Eleven Wise and Liberty Professionals netted six times to claim the goalking award as Ghana placed third in the 2013 Fifa Under-20 World Cup in Turkey.
He now becomes the second Ghanaian in the Swiss league with Samuel Afum also playing for Young Boys.
Clubs such as Saint Etienne in France and Tunisian giants Club Africain also tended in bids for him. The amount he was sold is yet to be made public.
